The following is the definition of keeping your animal under control as defined in Section 473-50 of the South Carolina Code of Laws, 1976 as amended. This is also the definition used in the Cherokee County Animal Control Ordinance.
An animal controlled by means of a chain, leash, fence or other restraining device, or which is sufficiently near the owner or keeper to be directly under such person’s control and which is obedient to that person’s commands, or which is on the property of the owner’s, or is on property by that owner’s permission, or is within a vehicle being driven or parked.
Failure to comply with the above ordinance may result in jail time and/or a fine of $155.00
This is the definition of Inoculation: Pets shall be inoculated annually: Under section 47-5-60, has to be done by a licensed Veterinarian; by South Carolina Code of Laws.
