Property Lister:

The Cherokee County Tax Assessor’s Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Property Lister position.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to inspecting new building permits, inspecting reviews, measuring and evaluating all improved and unimproved property and maintaining records and files. 




  • Prefer Real Estate or Tax Assessor’s Office experience
  • Must have computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Prefer customer service experience
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check

 This position is a grade 12 with a minimum salary of $26,966.00

Road & Bridges Manager:

Plans, directs and supervises improvements, construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, and other road related work within county jurisdiction. 




  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college is preferred or a combination of education and experience
  • Must have experience in roadway construction and maintenance
  • Must have a working knowledge of heavy equipment operation
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Must be able to work with the public and communicate in a professional manner
  • Must have or be able to obtain Class A license with no restrictions


This position is a grade 16 with a minimum annual salary of $39,482.00.

Part Time Deputy Coroner:

The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Deputy Coroner.  The Deputy works under the direction of the Coroner and duties include but not limited to securing crime scenes, collecting evidence and testifying in court.  Professionalism, attention to detail and ability to prioritize under stressful situations is a must.  Hours worked are dependent upon need which can include nights, weekends and holidays.  Ten hours budgeted per week.    


  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Good communication skills
  • Prefer experience in death investigations, law enforcement or forensic science
  • Must have valid SC Driver’s License
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check
This position is a grade 11 with a minimum beginning annual salary of $6,130.80.

Civil Office Clerk


Cherokee County is seeking a dependable self-motivated candidate that functions well in a fast paced office environment.  Duties include but not limited to accepting cash and checks for deposit, verify amounts, check accuracy of deposit slips, answer inquiries regarding accounts,  attempt to resolve issues and problems with accounts, issuing Rules to Show Cause and data entry.  This position works directly and with all aspects of the Family Court system.  Attention to accuracy and detail are a must.

  • Must have experience with Microsoft products
  • Must have at least 5 years of office experience
  • Prefer an Associate’s Degree in a related field or 4 years finance experience
  • Strong math and logic skills
  • Exemplary organizational, listening and communication skills
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Drug screen and background check required
  • Must be able to be bonded
  • Requires Notary Certificate
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license

This position is a grade 11 with a beginning minimum salary of $24,515.00.
