What We Do
The Cherokee County Treasurer’s Office takes payment for property taxes, including vehicle taxes. The taxes are calculated by the Cherokee Countyâs Auditor’s Office.
To search for and view your tax bill, pay your tax bill or get a copy of your receipt, click the Pay Taxes button below.
ONLINE VEHICLE TAX PAYMENTS:Â If you are registering a vehicle in Cherokee County or have transferred your plate, the tax payment receipt that is emailed to you at the time of your online payment can be used at SCDMV as acceptable proof of payment of taxes in order to obtain a decal and registration at SCDMV.
If you are renewing a vehicle registration, your receipt, decal and registration will be mailed directly from SCDMV in 7-10 business days.
ONLINE REAL ESTATE PAYMENTS:   If you pay your current tax year real estate bill online, you will not be mailed an official tax receipt. You will be emailed a receipt at the time of online payment or you may print the receipt from our website for your records.
Online payments for the current tax year real estate taxes will not be accepted after 5:00 p.m. on:
January 15, 2025
February 3, 2025
March 17, 2025
