**New Permitting Process Requirement as of February 17th, 2026.**
Beginning in February 2026, Cherokee County Building Codes will issue permit pullers with a laminated ‘Permit Card’ in addition to their full permit. When work is occurring that requires permitting from building codes, a Permit Card will be required to be placed at the location of the permitted work that is fully visible from a public right of way. The full permit information must continue to remain at the location of the permitted work and must be presented upon request by any Cherokee County building safety employee.
