Animal Control
Animal Control is a division of the Cherokee County Sheriffâs Office. Animal Control enforces the countyâs tethering ordinance and will investigate and pick up nuisance animals.
Call 864-487-8529, ext 1 to report a nuisance animal.
You can also request a trap from Animal Control at no cost. You are responsible for returning the trap to Animal Control. If a stray is caught, please contact Animal Control and they will come collect the animal. If you lose a trap, the fees are $225 for a large trap, $125 for a small trap and $65 for a cat trap.

If you have found an animal and do not wish for the animal to be picked up by Animal Control, as you are housing the animal, you can e-mail [email protected] to let the shelter know that this animal has been found and is looking for his/her owner. This will assist in faster efforts to locate the owner, as they may have contacted the shelter to see if the animal is there.  Â
