Eligibility: Voters who will be 18 years old by Election Day and who have registered to vote in Cherokee County at least 30 days before the primary. 

The Primary Election is an election by the political parties to nominate their candidates for the General Election ballot. No one is elected in a Primary election; candidates are nominated.

S.C. does not have registration by party.  The Statewide Primaries are open to all registered S.C. voters.  Poll managers will ask voters, “In which party’s primary do you wish to vote today?”

In case of a Run-off, voter must choose same party as Primary.
