Cherokee County Comprehensive Plan Kickoff Meeting
You are invited to attend the public kickoff meeting for the Cherokee County Comprehensive Plan on Thursday, October 26. It will be held at the County Administration Building located at 110 Railroad Avenue in Gaffney from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The meeting will include a presentation of the planning process, background research, and an overview of how you can participate.
The Comprehensive Plan, which is required by state law to be updated every ten years, will guide the future growth and development of Cherokee County. The Plan will include a thorough analysis of emerging trends and topics related to land use, development, transportation, utilities, and other factors which impact growth. The analysis, along with public input, will be utilized to develop a vision and recommendations to guide the Countyâs growth in the coming years.
As part of the process, the County will also examine how to implement zoning in the areas of economic growth within close proximity to the Interstate 85 corridor where signiïŽcant public investments in infrastructure are being made.
