Cherokee County is hosting its 5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Event at the Administration Building (110 Railroad Avenue Gaffney, SC 29340) on December the 2nd from 6 PM until 8 PM. We hope that you will join us in kicking off the Christmas season here in Cherokee County!
Have your list for Santa ready to go!
Come photo ready, as you will be able to have your picture taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their sleigh, you can climb into the county’s MowerMax that will be decorated for the season and take a photo, and stand by our snow machine to take a photo, pretending to have a white Christmas (since this isn’t something we in Cherokee County get!)
Don’t forget to bring a gift to place under the tree at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter table that will be set up at the Christmas Tree Lighting so that the pups and cats at the shelter have a wonderful Christmas!
The Cherokee County Library will be on site with their awesome Bookmobile stocked with Christmas favorites that you can check out! Don’t have a library card? You can sign up for your own library card at this event.
Write and mail your own letter to Santa Claus. He will read and respond to them all! He loves Cherokee County.
Listen to Dennis Fowler read a Christmas classic, T ’was the Night Before Christmas.
Come hear students from schools around Cherokee County sing delightful Christmas songs.
Enjoy a cup of free hot chocolate, Christmas tree cakes, and candy while awaiting the lighting of our new Christmas Tree.
Come play for free on inflatables and do Christmas crafts.
