This role is responsible for:
- Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling significant operations, and maintenance functions of all operational aspects for Cherokee County Emergency Medical Services.
- Building and implementing guidelines for authorized agency plans, programs, and procedures to ensure effective management of the personnel, activities, and programs and to work toward the attainment of current and future county objectives.
- Professional operations of the County Emergency Medical Services as well as the oversight of contractual compliance of EMS/Ambulance providers within Cherokee County.
Requirements for this role are:
- Associates Degree or Equivalent experience (5 years of senior management experience) within a Public Safety Administration capacity
- Strong Background in Operational aspects of Emergency Medical Services
- Must be available for recall 24 hours a day for emergency situations
- Must be in possession of valid South Carolina driverâs license

- Maintaining software utilized to facilitate equipment/vehicle work orders
- Developing reports as they relate to vehicle maintenance
- Facilitating the procurement process for all equipment and vehicle service needs

- Communication with various departments regarding equipment general and preventative maintenance needs.
This role requires:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in vehicle maintenance coordination in some capacity.
- Minimum of two years in an administrative role within the government sector
- Proficient with technology, i.e. Microsoft Office Products, Adobe Products, Excel, etc.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and in possession of a valid driverâs license issued by the State of South Carolina
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen

Treasurer's Office Clerk
The Treasurerâs Office Clerk is responsible for, but not limited to, receiving tax payments, issue refund checks, and assist taxpayers with routine questions. This requires the ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately in a fast-paced office environment. Must have excellent written and verbal skills.

Roads and Bridges Equipment Operator
Under general supervision of the Roads and Bridges Lead, operates a variety of heavy and light equipment to perform construction and maintenance of the County roads and bridges. Duties include but not limited to mowing, asphalt patching and repair, grading and placing gravel on roadways, stormwater maintenance, pipe construction, etc. Performs manual labor with hand tools as required. Regular hours are Monday â Friday, 7:30 a.m. â 4:30 p.m.

The Circuit Solicitorâs Office is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time office job (37.5 hours per week). The duties for the position include answering telephones, data entry, filing, communicating with the public and preparation of legal paperwork.

Telecommunications Operator
The Cherokee County 911 Communications Department is searching for a Telecommunications Operator. Duties include answering and processing 911 emergency, and non-emergency calls. Dispatch law enforcement, fire and EMS response units when appropriate. This position works 12.25 hour shifts on a set schedule, either days or nights.

Part Time Deputy Coroner
The Cherokee County Coronerâs Office is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Deputy Coroner. The Deputy works under the direction of the Coroner and duties include but not limited to securing crime scenes, collecting evidence and testifying in court. Professionalism, attention to detail and ability to prioritize under stressful situations is a must. Hours worked are dependent upon need which can include nights, weekends and holidays. Ten hours budgeted per week.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good computer skills (Word and Excel)
- Good communication skills
- Must live in Cherokee County
- Prefer experience in death investigations, law enforcement or forensic science
- Must have valid SC Driverâs License
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check
This position is a grade 11 with a minimum beginning annual salary of $6,130.80.
