Application Request for Traffic Calming
-If this request meets the minimum requirements to conduct a traffic calming study and road safety audit, an associated petition must be signed by 75% of the neighborhood prior to commencement of the traffic calming study. The initiator of this request is required to provide Cherokee County with the completed petition (Linked here) within 30 calendar days of this initial request.
-Once the study is concluded, any safety countermeasures/traffic calming devices suggested from the results of the study must have 100% approval from all adjacent property owners from the location of the recommended traffic calming device prior to implementation.
-Cherokee County will conduct 5 total traffic calming studies per fiscal year (July 1-June 30.)
-A response will be provided to each request within 30 business days.
-Please remember that only county owned roadways are eligible for this program, and not all county owned roadways are eligible for this program.
